In a word, no. I sold it for that reason.

I sold my original actual Loar L5 for that reason. Hated to part with it, sounded fab, but if you can't really use it... I never did find out when they slimmed down the necks a bit.

What year was that? I played a c.1930 once, one of the greatest guitars I have ever played. I recall that the neck felt quite"modern", and not outrageously V'd, but I was told that the necks got less modern later in the early 30's.
