That's Joe Pass playing a Fender Jaguar, he spent 2 1/2 years in a Synanon drug rehab program, he formed a jazz group and didn't own a guitar I think it belonged to Synanon. He recorded an album called Sounds Of Synanon.

We don't know their struggles. I think Burrell has talked a bit about it; maybe stuffed a guitar. Of course, those guys were so great that the dinner crowd likely stopped talking when they played.

I actually met Kessell a few times and talked about gear etc. he played an old Gibson with a Charlie Christian single coil pickup and feedback was not a problem. I played a Guild Manhatten with P90's for over 20years through an Epiphone 100watt stereo amp and I had no feedback problems at all, but I've seen people tape over the f holes to stop feedback so I think it depends basically on the gear your using and amp orientation to the instrument.
