Anyone tried this little amp?
I am curious, I would like a small acoustic amp.
(Around 400 euros and 6 kg.)

That is good idea.
I think about this amp.
I tried only AERs.

Anybody??

There is an Italian gentleman on the Acoustic Guitar forum that has one. He responded at the very end of a long thread I started on having many requirements for an acoustic guitar preamp. I can look up his name if you like or if you post on their 'Amplified Acoustic' section, he will likely respond. If you wish I can do this for you.
Kris - I'm not a big fan of the small AER models. They always sound a bit boxy to me. However, I do like the amplifiers SR (now Schertler) has produced which I think includes this one. I'm using a pair of Jam 150 extensions (basically a powered speaker with a line in) with an A&H Zed10fx mixer for acoustic guitars. They deliver a very hi fi sound. The Jam 150 speaker also sounds very good driven by the line out of a Henriksen head.Last edited by Spook410; 12-04-2013 at 02:01 AM.

Disco, I've not tried the Giulia but own its big brother, the David Classic. As an acoustic amp it's stunning with steel or nylon strings (the 'Warm' feature is particularly helpful with nylon strings). If you intend to use it with your Moffa, it might be a good idea to try it first if you can to see if it works for you. In terms of sound, build quality and portability though, I would definitely recommend Schertler amps.

Thanks Themis,
I would love to try some different amps with the guitar just in case, if you know what I mean!!
Everyone needs a solid state, a tube and an acoustic amp, am I right??

I agree with OP the amp really shines with acoustic guitar pickups, however it takes some working with to get a good tone out of a mag pickup. I started using a LR Baggs Para EQ in front of the "Stat" channel and it offers some help finding the sweet spot on the amp using a mag pickup. The guitars I run through it are a 92 Guild AA (Floating pickup), a Eastman Pisano 880 (built in KA pickup) and a Manouche Gypsy with a Bigtone pickup. About a year ago a started using the line out feature in to Ultrasound AG-30 EQ set flat for some extra reinforcement. I constantly get complements on my sound.
Since Eastman now owns them I would expect more support, although Chris was always helpful when I had a question and they were in Seattle.

Thanks Tango!

Maybe I need a more powerful amp than the Giulia, I'm asking here because Giulia seems like a good deal.
BTW, Alfa Romeo has a Giulietta!!

I used few years ago small AER Alfa also about 6kg and 40 watts.
Quite good small amp but I think Giulietta is better...:-)

When I run the Jam 150 powered extension (8" woofer, 1" tweeter) with the line out of a Henriksen JazzAmp head it sounds about the same as a Redstone 10ER speaker. The Jam 150 just reproduces the input. I imagine the Schertler amps are similar. Their input stage looks like a mixer. I'm curious to see what would happen if I were to hook up a Barb EQ to a line out converter to drive this kind of powered speaker.
As for Schertler service, I had a question about their yellow blender preamp. Made the inquiry on the Eastman Guitar website and had an answer back from a qualified source within 2 days. No experience with warranty, but it appears they are paying attention.
