Seems like sympathetic vibrations is haunting most guitars from time to time, no matter the make and model.

I had this problem with my Painter P-350 (which I like a lot) and it drove me crazy. I tried everything in vain. Then one day I noticed that the noise stopped when i pressed down firmly on the pickguard. It turned out that the noise was caused by the pickguard vibrating against the bracket holding it. A shim of cardboard between the pickguard and the bracket got rid of it and it's been quiet since.

For the last 35 years I have had a bit of a saxophone reed vedged between the brigde PU and the PU ring on my 1961 Gibson 175 to stop the PU from buzzing. Crude, but it works.

I've had 7 jazz guitars in my life. All of them had some kind of rattling or buzzing, be it the pickguard or the pickup-rim or the tailpece or a switch or who knows what.
