Yes, it's the multiac nylon synth model. I noticed a big difference on my Gibson 185 EC, as well, which also has an onboard preamp. I read somewhere that a different value on buffer impedance(?) was optimal for piezos, but maybe the preamps help me out.
What do you know about all of this? I read some about a buffered volume pedal for piezos here: VM-PRO-PZ | missionengineering.commissionengineering.com

Yeah with piezos it's a good idea to have a high input impedance (some say 10M) and more headrrom (say 18v). But that's only if you don't have an internal preamp... But with or without the preamp - if you use a volume pedal without any buffer before it you will always notice more tone suck on an acoustic than on an electric.

Good thing to know, thanks. Whatever happened to "plug and play"?

It's just an ancient memory by now

Small update: I found a fv-50h volume pedal I didn't remember I had, found a cheap RV-7 reverb used and a friend is making me a very cheap headphone. This solution saved me 75€ and for now it's perfect - but I am still curious at the G3 line... if I find one used I will probably get it.

Jorge, if you are looking for a headphone solution, I have to recommend finding a used Zoom PS-02 - the older "palm" studio. Great bunch of tone tweaks and amp sims, considering that it's about 10 year old technology. about the size of a small sandwich. Runs on 4 aaa's or power adapter, actually sounds pretty good going straight out into another amp or PA. Plus, it's tiny. If you can find one used on ebay, you might have a pretty handy solution for acoustics and electrics, esp for practice.
Stay away from the newer PS-04 if you find one... no auxiliary input for playing along.

Hi yebdox. My friend is making me an "headphone amp", similar to the EHX one, for 35€. The board (which is also my going trough the PA box) will have tuner - booster - barbq preamp - gcs-2 cab simulator - reverb - ditto looper - headphone amp.
I think I will nail a very good sound trough headphones with this setup... But a small modeler is a much simple one piece setup. When I find one used I will go for it...
I do not need batteries (they always go dead when I most need the device they are feeding) and I do not need an aux input - I hate play-alongs with all my guts
I 1) make my own play-along with the looper 2) play with no background with the metronome. And this setup will be mostly for composing and I just need the looper for that.
But thanks for the tip!

That sounds like it will be a nice set up!
The PS-O2 is great for travel, as well as simply sitting around and practicing. It comes with a clip for your belt or guitar strap. Really very convenient. Too bad they didn't continue to develop it, but I think some of the preamp and modeling programs are part of the newer hand held recorders they make. I don't have any direct experience with those however (HS-2? Etc.)

Hi everyone! This is Carlos, from Argentina. I've just bought my own Zoom g3x. Really happy with it!!!
I wnat to know if anyone of you has any suggest or advice to make a "near-Zendrive-sound" patch for this pedal effect unit, or sort of that.
Someone in USA told me it's about setting a Dumble amp. What do you think?
Tks
