He's now working on the neck. He employs two carbon rod.
I can say he's thoroughly enjoying the process. lol
-
If you pick up a Schaefer, the quality of the build immediately comes to mind.
I know how those guitars would feel in my hands and in my lap. Mine is coming
along. He's currently working on the neck. The truss rod has been installed with silicon.
And the headstock veneer. It's gonna to be a beautiful guitar once finished.
I'll send progress pictures soon. He is such a meticulous craftsman. He does
not leave any detail unattended. That's why his guitars sound so good.
-
He's more enthusiastic about the build than I. lol
-
Here's a picture of the neck before the silicon was added around the truss rod.
Notice the beautiful binding around the headstock.
-
He puts buckshot in the body to balance it out.
-
You're making me want a 3rd Schaefer!
-
Notice the high figuring of the maple and the buckshot for at the bottom for balancing
-
LOL! I know, right? Btw, he decided to do 5 ply binding on the body because he considers
this build to be big and bold 17". I'm very hands off on this project. I'm just letting him
build. Obviously he has a vision in mind. So I'm just letting him do his thing.
-
i plan to see him later this weekend. i usually sit up with him for a spell to chat
about just about anything.

fretboard attached to neck

Above my headstock at the top, take notice of a smaller headstock of a 16" being concurrently built.
And next my headstock is a custom fretboard and tailpiece blank made with esoteric symbols - very
expensive to make.
