Well, Bill Frisell plays an I35-LC, I think.

Also, collings has only been making electrics since 2006, so it is a new company in the electric guitar world.
Give it some more time and it will catch on more in Europe.
The dealer you are talking about will soon realize that Collings is superior to any newer Gibson.

I said this a few days ago and and EastSide LC appeared in the market of used instruments of our country at 3400 euros.
It's a well know guitar shop in Rome
They don't even know that it's spelled collings and not collins

    Lol, that's too funny!
I don't think I would ever buy anything from a dealer that doesn't even know how to spell the name of their products.

Just got an email confirming that my Eastside Deluxe is making it's way to me. Time to get excited!

So what do you guys think of the new colour? Mine is an antique blonde and also has the Lollar CC pup......which I was going to try anyway. So glad they put that in.

Here is the new cherry ....not sure if I would have ordered this colour had it been available. It's cool but I think I'm a bit of a traditionalist.

Sweet, must be exiting. I am really happy with the blonde color, I think the deluxe version looks a little different. Digging the red cherry too!

I think it's a nice colour, although I probably prefer a Blonde or Sunburst for this guitar.
For a Gibson 335 I like the Cherry more than other colours (why?, I don't know....)

Heh, heh, good to hear, Phil. Collings worked out how to set up your Eastside LC for the Thomastik Infeld 0.014 set, I guess.

The Collings Faded Cherry looks great. However, it is too much ingrained in my Paleolithic brain that Cherry is Big G's "cheap" finish so that is its association, for better or for worse.

Collings opaque Merlot would look great on it as would transparent TV Yellow.

Hope that your Antique Blonde turns out well. I like how Blonde takes on a richer hue over time.
