    MT,
I've seen the Fender Princeton Reverb reissue go used for £500 (keep your eye on the Musicradar forum classifieds). That would be perfect.

Over on the same forum, a Rivera Clubster 25 (basically a Deluxe in a Princeton size package) has just been snapped up today at £500.

Just to clarify--a Fender SCXD will not have a "hybrid" sound, the clean channel will sound like a blackface Fender, i.e., Princeton or Deluxe Reverb.

If you are going to split the signal with a SS amp I would be inclined to go the route of a small all-tube amp like the Fenders mentioned above or the Peavey Classic series.

It probably doesn't matter much but I believe the XD was made in China, then the X2s manufactured in Mexico.

Recommendations please? What's the (effective) difference between the X2 and XD? What about the simplicity of the Pro Junior?

    Please note, regarding any alternatives:

MUST be readily available in the UK without importing
NOT looking for a solid-state amp here
No need for distortion, effects, etc.; reverb nice but not essential
Do NOT need some heavyweight that will strain this old bloke's back.

    Thanks in advance

Small/portable Fender tube amp that won't strain your back or bank account, and has 10-20 watts? I'd say these are your choices:

    Used Princeton Reverb Reissue
    Blues Junior
    Pro Junior
