Tailpiece: made in china 40$ job. Looks cool and was a replacement for a busted made in china 40$ part that gibson used. The holes did NOT line up so I redrilled. I dont use a strap button so 3 small holes didnt bother (or it didnt bother me as much as having the original TP break and have gibson say ... sorry.. we dont sell replacement TPs for that guitar BUT we source the TP from the same place as stewmac and allparts). Parallelogram TPs were pretty hard to find except for originals ($$$$) or chinese copies but I think there IS one available in the past year. I just dont remember where it is from.
P90: is actually a lollar I had him make for me with alnico poles instead of slugs/bar magnets like a real p90 (actually the first 1946-48is P90s were like this) This makes for a much shorter PU that fit under the strings. I put a mounting plate over the HB route and mounted the PU to that.

I got this website from a JG forum member last year. It has wiring kits for Gibsons and Epiphones and explains things like linear taper, ohms, etc...
You might find it helpful, too.

Nice explanation. Not a big fan of the costly PIO kits but otherwise a good reference page.

i came here for a childish fight about values and prices and i was sorely disappointed. shame on all of you. for what its worth, i also prefer 500k on both, because i like to fiddle.
once played a herb ellis in a store. used, a customer trade in. wine red. so pretty. really wanted to like it, but the store had strung it with 10s. there isn't a face here to represent the one i made, but it was something between
and
. i think i would have liked it a lot, but i just couldn't get a feel for it. i eventually set it down and left. this was more of a rock targeted store, so i suppose it was either standard policy or nobody knew any better.

FEET: Completely off topic but.. my boss is looking for a new guitar. I have gone to shops with him and handed him some amazing guitars and he is like "meh.. " so I try them. Shitty strings and poorly set up.
BACK ON TOPIC: I wonder what the post 1999 165s have for a pot?
