IMO, the Jazzamp is a dependent choice. Meaning, depending on ones needs. I use NO pedals, and NO reverb, and do NO gigging. For a home practice amp it's MORE than sufficient. I replaced a high powered well regarded tube amp with the JA, and don't regret that decision.

One's amp choice is personal, just as in selecting speakers or gear in high end audio, and thus there's no one size fits all in choosing an amp for the variables, as in high end audio, are far too great, IMO.

    buy an eq

but indeed if this is an old model + noise at euro voltage + fan on board I'd rather not and mess about with my vibroverb a bit more

thanks everyone for all your input !!

    +1

That is exactly the reason why I said that I am very happy with my JA but did not say "Yeah! Go for it! You MUST buy that amp."

    > So my question is Which guitars do you usually play with the amp?

L5 ces with pafs, acoustic archtops with dearmond 1100, or johnny smith floating hb.
