They'll be delivering my "new" two year old Triggs New Yorker. I have to sit by the door like a puppy waiting for it. Oh joy! wag, wag. I'll send out some photos as soon I can.
-
-
In for pic's. Sounds like a very cool guitar.
-
I'm up for pics too. Don't you just hate waiting at the door for the guitar truck to come?
-
I think the UPS driver must live close to me and gets to bring the truck home. Because I get to where I feel like"maybe tomorrow" and shut off the lights. Then he shows up,in the dark.
-
So????????????????? Did you get it yet????????
-
I did. How it got here safely is beyond me. It came in a 18" hard case, not a bad one,but older.it was swimming in there all the way from California. Seven days worth by ground. With no wrapping to secure it tightly in the case and the top of the case pushing upwards above the limits of the box. My 18" fits in it nicely. Anyway it's here and it's great. I'll get out some photos sometime tomorrow. This is the one that's been on Ebay from the Beverly Hills guy who's also selling the Citation. I'll go into it more in the thread once I can sit with her a while and welcome her home properly.

Thought I'd throw some photos at you.We all hope to get some support on knowing we made good choices. So give me some positive support OK? She's in mint shape as described, set up with roundwounds which are a brighter sound than I am used to. And she needs intonation tomorrow. Pick-up in fine. Nice neck, thinner than I'm used to with my big DA. But ,I'm certain my hands will adjust to it. I've been looking for a long time to replace the 17" DA ll I had and this is about as close as I can get without a custom order at much more money.

Looks great +++.
How's the balance playing six-string chords, or some reasonable facsimile, as you head up the neck (like 7th to 10th frets)?
What strings will you be running?

Yum!

That's a great looking guitar with some really fine wood. Congrats on NGD. Ain't it great when it happens like you want it to? At first, I thought it was all dirty and scratched but I cleaned off my computer screen and now the guitar looks flawless. Lots of good playing to you.
-
Gorgeous - enjoy. Is that a BJB pickup or something else like a Kent Armstrong?
-
That's really quite a deep dish on the back. Ain't too many guys could build such a gorgeous guitar. Triggs is one of the few. Beautiful!! I know very well the feeling of shear joy you feel tonight. Good on you man!!!

Thank you all for the support. PT,the balance is fine. I normally play flats 13-54 and I think I'll do the same on this guitar. It's so responsive that I hear every finger squeak. The flats should help that. Hot Ford, thanks for the compliment on the woods. I hope to get a lot of good playing out of her! First things first,I need to find a new case to protect her.
-
Rp, I don't think it's a BJB. They're a bit hotter. Probably an Armstrong. It's got the two screws as if it was a rear Johnny Smith. That makes me think Armstrong may have created it for that look. Patrick, you're right Triggs is one of the few for the deep dish. Some of the modern luthiers seem to be going the other way. Here's a photo of mother a child....

You definitely need a new case for that. That one seems to fit like socks on a rooster. If you don't mind spending somewhere between $350 and $450, Joe Vinikow at Archtop.com can get you a pretty good case. I bought one from him for my 16 inch D'A and it fits like a glove. It's also a pretty solid case.

Absolutely stunning instrument , congrats on an awesome buy ,
-
Great git! And Congrats! What happened to "other" one, y'know, the one with the cracked nitro? Did you sell it?
A TKL case for your 17" Triggs runs below $170 from First Quality Music ; TKL Professional Series Jumbo Guitar Case . A Jumbo Ameritage Silver Series case is about $238 from Elderly Instruments : AMERITAGE SILVER SERIES GUITAR CASE - Elderly Instruments .
P.S. This one is a beauty. Has a really nice aged patina to it. Nicer than the one that caused you some grief. I love its caramel-colored spruce.

I see you like 'em big and blond! ;-) Great guitar, congratz!
-
Congrats beautiful guitar
I immediately was thinking the same as HFC - that case aint fitting properly to protect the guitar so if you are taking it somewhere buy another case first
-
-
Thanks HFC,Thanks but I think I'm going to match her up with the same tweed case on the 18". Just like kids, you dress them alike. Joe might be able to help me there.
-
Thank you Keira,I don't know what you're playing in your avatar but looks like this is your kind of piece.
-
Thanks Jabberwocky,You've saved me some hunting. The tweed case on my 18" is a TKL. TKL is fine for the little travel she see,if any.
-
Thanks Little Jay, Big and blonde is wonderful, but I've been with blonde for twenty years wouldn't mind a little brunette on the side. I mean sunburst. In case the wife reads this thread.
Track off new album release for anyone interested.
