If anyone has played a Sadowsky Electric Nylon String Guitar, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Have not... but sure looks interesting. Out of my price range so I have a Godin which plays and sounds great.
I've seen vids of Scofield playing a Sadowsky nylon.

I play one and I absolutely love it. Like all Sadowsky's, it plays like butter. The tone is not like a nylon classical; it's quite different but in a very cool way. It took me a few weeks to tune in to the responsiveness of this guitar.
When I play with others, or along with a soundtrack, it somehow always seems to enhance the song and it just fits in. Amazing guitar and very inspiring. I play mine through a AI Clarus 2, Raezer Edge 10ER. This guitar and this amp/cab combo are magic.
Personally, I think everyone should have a nylon in their arsenal, and Sadowsky nylon is as good as it gets. I would VERY highly recommend this guitar.

Wow! What a beauty!
I have a Godin Multiac Encore Nylon guitar that has given me nothing but trouble. The pickups died after less than a week. I had a luthier look at it and repair it, but after a day or two of playing it, the pickups died again.
It's probably worth spending some extra cash to get a high end guitar like that Sadowsky model, instead of going for some mid-tier model like I did. I'm not saying that Godin doesn't make good guitars, but I went for an affordable option and got schooled.
I'd love to hear a recording of that guitars tone. I know Sadowsky makes quality(Jim Hall and Jimmy Bruno play Sadowsky guitars), and I'm curious to hear what the nylon model sounds like!

I'm really sorry to hear that. I have a multiac nylon that plays fine and sounds ok (though not quite overwhelming). The issue that i have with it is that it feeds back like crazy. It is almost impossible to play with a band because of that.

In any case, i also learned over time that spending the extra money is worthwhile, but i don't think i'll need another Nylon string guitar :-)

Thanks. I wonder if you could comment a bit on the physical makeup of the guitar as well. Weight, neck profile etc?

Nice playing on that video. Thanks for the link.

Didn't Keef have one, nicknamed "Electric Guts" (after his original Spanish classica was nicknamed "Guts", for a gut-string guitar)??
But Yes!! http://sadowskyguitars.blogspot.co.u...-richards.htmlLast edited by mangotango; 07-13-2012 at 12:23 PM. Reason: I found it on the Net!!

Playability is fast and effortless; not a hint of a struggle which lets me free up. Frets are medium jumbo, action is like a feather all the way to the 22nd fret. Action at first fret feels like the third fret - sign to me of a spot on set up. Intonation also spot on. Workmanship is impeccable. Top to bottom, this is a quality axe.
I play 90% fingerstyle and this the whole guitar is very easy to control, very player friendly, and as I mentioned before, responsive as can be.
The tele-like body is very comfortable and "fits". I love playing it and look forward to doing so every day. Buy one; you won't regret it!!
Check this one out!

Thanks, JHChop. Very helpful. And nice video!

Possibly a really stupid question, but are you leaving it plugged in? Doing so will kill the battery really quickly, and some luthiers will be only too happy to charge you for 'mystery' work, only having changed a battery.

With some good eq, it is very difficult at low volumes to distinguish it from my Alhambra 10P.

Speaking of electric nylon string guitars, does anybody have any info or experience with the Slaman archtop Nylon? index
I love the idea of it. Wonder how it sounds...
