Whoa, 2012. Impressive revival.

I have a set of the 14 Labellas that once in a while I put on and take off fairly quickly (dab of clear nail polish on the silk wrap prior to cutting and they're seemingly indestructible) Sounds silly but the black color and lack of contrast against the fretboard mess with my astigmatism, making a murky, blurry mess. Still gotta look. Maybe all 6 black would help. Other than that they sound and feel nice.
The steel flats are great. Smooth, lots of woody thunk on my 175. However I play for myself/by myself and I'm realizing the sustain and richness of rounds seem to carry my fledgling chord melody efforts a little better at the low volumes.

According to their website, Black Nylon Strings have plain steel E & B strings.
