You need to just play as many guitars as you can and let yourself be the judge. Anyone else's advice is futile. They can only point you in the right direction.

I can get advice from anything (pedals, amps, cables, strings, etc...) and even buy online without trying sometimes - EXCEPT guitars. That is really up to you! Never buy a guitar online, always play it first and play as many as you can! Even two guitars from the same brand, year, etc.. can feel very different.

Still, go to Ivor Mairants and try as many jazz boxes as you can, at least you'll get some idea. Do the legwork. They are very nice guys in there and were happy to let me try guitars.
