Any suggestions? Analogue or digital? I was looking at the MXR Carbon Copy which is 'relatively' cheap but I'm a bit of a novice in this area. I don't need any long delays or anything too fancy. I have a Jamman looper so don't need any looping functions.
Or should I not bother?! Oh, and I just play solo chord melody, so I'm not wanting to do Gimouresque solos in a band.
    Many thanks

Give a try to the latest Boss DD7. plenty of settings, analog or digital and a built-in looper for practising.
As ever with boss, Built like a tank and dead quiet, pretty reliable.

A reverb pedal with predelay function would be the best. When mixing audio, if you want an element to stand out, you give it some more predelay (up to around 40ms) i.e. some delay time before the reverb tail kicks in. It'll make it sound more upfront, yet still having the added sweetness of the reverb.

EHX Cathedral can do it for example.

For analog delay, any thoughts on the Electro Harmonix Memory Man?

Because of the delay IC they use in the MM there can be unwanted noise associated with the delayed notes. I think they are very sensitive to power supplies. I had a Memory Boy i swapped out for a new one and both had the same issue. If you can get one that sounds OK they are fine but too unreliable for my tastes.

Interesting...I'll keep that in mind. I appreciate the insight, Spiral.

Just wanted to say I gave the Flashback a new try and this time I loved it... don't know why I didn't liked it the first time. Its as as good as my TC Nova and its very small and 9v. Its the best small and affordable delay out there - beats Hardwire and Boss and similars IMO. Will sell the Nova and buy, it will give me a lot of new pedalboard space and I dont need taking an extra 12v power supply.
