I have an early 40s G1 with a different headstock overlay and different fretboard inlays. I would be concerned about the apparently numerous cracks in the top, as the seller doesn’t mention whether they have been cleated and glued. One or two properly repaired cracks would not be a problem. The price seems fair if the instrument is in good playable condition and sounds well. Obviously this is one you should play before committing. Based on my experience, a good G1 can be a great acoustic rhythm guitar.

Thanks. Yes, there seems to be very little descriptive detail. The seller just refers to the photos. But the cracks are clearly visible in them.
I can't recall seeing a Stromberg for sale in the UK before and I've never really looked in to them. But I read yesterday that early Strombergs had laminated pressed tops which surprised me. I've been a bit busy on the 'acquiring' front in the last few months so I'll probably end up just watching it on ebay and being disappointed when it sells!
