    I've put foam sponges into my archtop, they reduce feedback.

    My archtop(s) have modern D'Aquisto style F Holes.

    I'm still testing them, but they seem to work ok and look fine. I can easily remove them

    See below: I'm using these type of Car foam sponges (two glued together), then pressed into the body of the guitar through the large modern F-Holes.

    Its must be something in the air. I made a foam f-hole cover yesterday from eva foam.

    I think it's because it's an easy thing to do.

    Just beware that sponge foam will start disintegrating after some time and you need to check and replace them. A few years though probably.
