I have no idea how long this has been available, but according to their site, they've re-engineered the cab using 1/2
plywood instead of 3/4" and it drops the weight from 30 lbs down to 23 lbs.

I must confess I don't think I've ever seen marketing schpiel from a speaker company proclaiming "most tube-like sounding speaker cabinet" ...unless they mean their rectangular box sounds like a cylindrical box?

But it's a good price and a good concept, so I'd give one a listen.

I have an old Twin 8 when Rich was building them - I don't know what ply they used but it weighs 22 lbs - I like it a lot, it's light, easily transportable and sounds good - I use it with semi hollow guitars a lot - it might be a bit too dark for you though, there's not a lot of sparkle up top

"warm tube-like sound" = "has no high end and a limited dynamic range".
The thinner wood cabinet is probably a bit more resonant than the 3/4" version, and the slight vibrations of the cab add some low order harmonic content (as do tubes). It probably does make a small bright head like a little Quilter sound more like a small tube head. Of course, there's an optional tweeter to add back the spank.
I also have a Rich-built RE (a Bass 10) that has limited highs. But it's made with old school heavy wood and bracing, and it sounds wonderful with a 7 for solo playing and backing a singer. It's not great for blues, pop, and general commercial use, though. Even a simple thing like reverb loses its sparkle and adds less space and air than it should. If I were to do it again, I'd get an ER Stealth 10 instead. If I were buying a twin 8, I'd get the tweeter to do justice to archtops. But the Eminence Alpha 8As that come in it are midrange drivers, so I suspect it won't have the tight bass I like. I've never played through one, so I can't say that with certainty. I'd love to be wrong about this and hope I get a chance to hear one live.
