A friend came around for a jam with his new guitar, the Eastman T64, a 330-style guitar.
He handed it to me with the bridge pickup on, and I was thinking, “this sounds okay”. But then I put it on the neck pickup…HELLO! It sounded GREAT. Thunkish elements abound. It would be great for a lightweight bebopish guitar, nice too in the middle setting for chord melody.
It seemed a small-scale guitar at first, which confused me, but it’s a regular 24.75” scale, but with the body join a bit lower down. It's not for screaming bendy blues stuff at the top frets - but it does make the guitar very, very easy to play.
I have more than enough guitars at present, so I’ll pass for now (not that my friend was offering) but keep it in mind for a later date.
If anyone is thinking about one, the one I played today has my recommendation.

There’s always just one more guitar to own. I wish I could say the same about acquiring gigs,Lol!

Thanks for sharing this, Rob. I've been eyeing the trapeze tailpiece version of this guitar. I think the "iced blue metallic" color looks pretty cool.

Yeah, love the trapeze!

The one I tried was the trapeze version. Overall it was a very light guitar, and neck dive never crossed my mind.

Nice alternative to an E$-330, especially if you don't want the long-neck version.
