    D'Addario Chromes, .011 or .012.

Just to clarify you said " wouldn't you suggest," was that a typo? but I agree with the above about the chromes and I'd get whatever gauge you currently use or one gauge bigger

I love me some LaBella jazz flats. They even make a light set.

I've been using TI flats, .011.
They can be heard here: Just the melody.

I have GHS Precision Flatwound 12's on my tele. I got them because they were inexpensive and they did a fine job. I see they're $27 a pack now. I'll go with Ernie Ball or DR next time. $20 a set is about all I can stomach for strings.

Same here (11). I change G to unwound plain string (like Julian Lage).

I’ve been grabbing TI Swings on the Amazon for $26. Still not inexpensive, and you have to engage with Amazon, but I try to stock up when prices are decent

EDIT: This was intended as a reply to @AllenAllen

The TI flats are an acquired taste- too floppy for me.

I’ve got a Thinline on the way. I’m thinking about trying a set of D’Addario half-rounds (11-50). Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

They are a standard in flatwounds, to be sure. However, I have had three out of four sets of 11s in the past year with defective, sitar-y G strings. With two of the sets, the problem was evident immediately on installation on two different guitars. D'Addario sent me replacements at no cost, which was much appreciated, but one of the replacement sets has developed the same problem after about four months on the guitar. I have not used the 12s in quite a few years, so I can't comment on those. My Tele is the guitar where the replacement strings have not thus far developed this problem and I think they sound very good.

If you use Chromes, save the plastic bag inside the container that has the code stamped on it. You will need it to verify your purchase with D'Addario if you need strings replaced. They were very pleasant and helpful, but obviously they want to know that they're just not shipping out free strings willy-nilly.
