it's a multi effects unit that allows you to describe the sound you are looking for and then arranges the effects and settings to replicate what it thinks you asked for.

I think a more accurate philosophical discussion of guitar tone would be made using Thoreau's comment that" public opinion is a weak tyrant compared to a man's own opinion of himself". IMO, one should play the guitar that inspires one's playing.

No problem with finding your own tone or instrument. My problem is people don’t want to hear anyone’s voice other than what’s been played adnauseum on commercial platforms.
