Can anyone with a 1920s/early 30s 16” L5 measure the thickness/depth of the fretboard binding at the first and 14th frets? Appreciated in advance.

hi
i have a players '32 L5 and i'm currently getting a players '33 resurrected. i'm currently away so i can't measure anything for you just now.
a problem with your question is that old fretboards likely have been planned and will not be near an original thickness. not sure of what you are needing the info for.
the '32 was played extensively by original owner, it has the thinnest FB of any of my 30's gibsons herd. the '33 was also played a lot but was not refretted as many times so its FB is noticeably thicker than the '32.
if you want original thickness info, some vintage repair shops might give you an idea of what that was. maybe mark campellone, or another builder, knows too. i'd guess they were 5 to 6 mm ish. i'd bet the FB depth was similar across the better guitars so maybe you can get there through a diff model not so heavily played over its life.
cheers, b
