JUST IN: Stringphonic Lang-C 1928 - Django Guitars USA

Looks 'right'. Yet another Japanese-made jazzer.

"StringPhonic guitars are high-quality Selmer and Favino replicas made in Japan by skilled luthiers with select european tonewood."

Lots of Stringphonic examples on this YouTube channel. He makes them sing.

Resurrecting this thread but definitely keen to check one of these out at some point. These sound pretty great on the recordings above and on their instagram.

I found the workmanship not on the same level as most Japanese made guitars. Example, open grain.

Do they have a more modern neck? Or the original profile huge v? I had a real Loar L5 for a while. As much as I loved the sound (and the mojo of an original Loar), I just couldn't work with that neck.

I have one I've been happy with. Mine is routed for a CC pickup so it's a bit different but I like the acoustic sound of it. I don't know if they copied an L-5's neck dimensions but the neck is not large or a V. It's quite a bit slimmer than my ES-300. The back did separate on my guitar but Stringphonic was easy to work with in getting it fixed.

FYI not sure if it is still the case but these guitars were significantly less expensive when I bought direct from Stringphonic as compared to US dealers. I think I paid around $2200 or something like that and there were no tariffs at the time. I think they're a good buy at that price.
