I was playing a gig yesterday and was having intermittent failures with an AER Compact 60. I changed cables changed the battery in my guitar, but it seems to have been the amp which for a few times stopped making any sound and then would come back on. The power did not go out because of the power indicator green light was lit the whole time . The amp is only a month or too old. Anybody else have a similar situation with this amp?
Thanks for any feedback.

I've had mine for a little over a year and a half now with no issues.

Sounds like a speaker connection, loose ground....

If it’s 2 months old, it’s a warranty issue. Take it to your dealer.

It has happened to me on occasion when playing too loud. There is a protection circuit that mutes the amp when the volume gets dangerous for the speaker. The easiest way for it to happen is if you're using an octave pedal.
I've had the same thing happen to many amps while gigging with an octave pedal and a looper. Zt Lunchbox, Roland cubes, Bugera acoustic. And many normal gigs after that without problems.
If the amp was old you should have it serviced, but for a new one i think that's it.

Thanks everybody. I do think Alter might be on something. It might be the way I was hitting the front of my amp with the gain on my preamp as well as a distortion pedal in the preamp effect loop. I was also playing a Fender Acoustasonic which has as humbucker. Perhaps it was all too much for the XLR input on the amp.
BUT
I was also using the direct out to a PA on the AER and that seemed to go silent too during the episodes.

AFAIK, thermal protection only cuts power to the output stage. The DI should still be live if that’s what happened. AER may do it differently, but I’ve never seen an amp with modern thermal protection that shut down the power supply.

I've been playing Compact 60ies for a long time, never had any functional problems. So yes - certainly a warranty issue!

Sent emails at least two days ago and still no answer from AER suppport.
An internet AI summary revealed that the entire signal path including the DI out would shut down in the event of thermal overheating. Not sure if that is reliable info though.

It just happened to me. I was using a dynamic microphone on the TRS input channel #2. Gain about 30%, Master Volume about the same. So no high levels at all. The AER stopped making sound several times. At the time it seemed as it happed when I had not made any sound in the mic for a few seconds (in a very quiet room). When I start whispering in the mic there was no sound but If I raised my voice it came back. I almost started thinking there is some automatic gate feature, but I hardly think so. My AER Compact 60/4 is less than a week old.
very annoying….
