I tried an Orville by Gibson ES-175 lately and it seemed like a pretty decent guitar. It was a double pickup ES-175 in natural and it looked convincing enough that I thought it was a real Gibson until I looked closer. As I understand, these are Japanese made guitars that are licensed by Gibson and have Gibson USA parts? I will say that the construction felt very good and the instrument felt nice in the hands. I'm not sure if the finish was nitro or poly, but it did not have that super tacky feeling that Gibson's typically have. It did, however, feel very solid in the lap and the construction seemed to mirror Gibson really, really well. The sound was, of course, very good.
I tried a bunch of guitars at the location I was at, including real Gibson and Heritage guitars and this one really stuck out.
Anyways, wondering what others here may have in experience for these models?

Particularly curious how these stack up to current day Archtop Tribute guitars, as well.
