After gassing for a year about a P90's semihollow, I finally pulled the plug. I've owned plenty of 335's in the past 35 years, but the Heritage H530 / Gibson Es330, is a whole different animal. I tried both, but the extended range on the neck of the Heritage sold me without hesitation. The neck on the Heritage is joint at the 19th fret, unlike the Gibson, which is joint at the 16th fret. Both guitars sounded stellar I must say. The weight difference from a 335 is a welcomed surprised too, I picked this guitar for $1600 and is worth every penny and more.. Very thankful.

    Cheers,
    Arnie..

My only question was do I really need access to above the 16th fret? 14th?

Well, probably not for most chord melody stuff, but if you're playing Fusion, Rock-Blues, etc, you do....

Wow ! Superb guitars. You're not helping my gas at all. I'm on the fence getting a H530 Standard II.
It's a question of days before l pull the trigger. Just waiting
for the right timing to be home for the delivery.
I wasn't that impressed by the new ES330 from Gibson. I found the one I tried a bit anemic. The Heritage just seems to be a better guitar just by looking at it..

For instance the bridge pickup is at the right height. The Gibson needed a shim... Kind of a pain to have to purchase a Lollar shim set right of the bat.
