Has anyone here compared the Benedetto S6 floater (SD) to the J Smith floater (SD)? SD doesnt even show the JS or reference and hard to tell if a preowned Ben is KA or SD ( or if it matters). I want to make a floater pickguard for one of my prewars and have the option of either. The Ben I have is SD. Just looking for any info, Ill try them both eventually but looking for the experience of others, pics attached

I have had two guitars with the Benedetto floater and I currently have one guitar with a Kent Armstrong JS type PUP. My experience is that with the adjustable pole pieces, the string balance (that suits my taste) is WAY better with the JS PUP. YMMV

I had the S6 on a Heritage Golden Eagle. Didn’t care for it.

Not exactly what you're asking, but I had an original Gib JS, and I now have a new S6, and I prefer the sound of the S6. Purely personal taste.

Doug's Plug partially falling out.
