P for Pedal, P for Preamp, P for Pearce, take your pick. I was a long-time user and fan of Pearce amps through the 80's and 90's and into the early 2000's. When Dan closed up shop, one of the techs, Jim Suchora, set up shop to build pedals that incorporated the Pearce technology. The "Pearce in a Pedal." His company is Suncoast Analog. He's built many iterations of the pedals, both bass and guitar. Most have a footprint roughly 7.5 x 5. His latest is the NanoLab Preamp. More reasonably priced, it's a bit more compact (4.5 x 3.5) than the previous models, because it has this cool feature of a separate switch box mini-pedal. (Like a combo amp would have.) You can put the preamp anywhere you want, within easy reach for control, and have the switch on the floor. I've been using it with my buddy's sterile sounding Mackie Flex, and it works great. I won't go into details, but here are a couple of pics.

Never played through a Pearce, they had a reputation for good tone but with some frailties (e.g., ribbon cables IIRC) . This solution might avoid the latter while conferring the former.

There was one ribbon cable for the digital reverb in the G2r that was known to die from time to time. It happened to me once in 25 yrs. Replacement was a few bucks and it popped right in.

Does anyone know where I can get the ribbon cable for my Pearce G1?

I think it's 16-pin, 1.27mm pitch. The male header (which has a broken pin) is ~3/4 inch (~19mm) wide.

I've looked everywhere, but not sure what I need to get.

    Thanks!

Check with Jim Suchora @ Suncoast Analog, whom I mentioned at the top of this thread.

I reached Jim and got a new ribbon, switches, other parts and good advice via his Reverb page and got both my Pearce G1 amps working. Thanks!
