I got sucked down a YT rabbit hole yesterday looking at these guitars. Almost all are used by rockers. No one seems to demo jazz! Go figure. Certainly a non-traditional approach to tele, etc. Anyone have any personal experience with them. I'm just a looker right now and these were not what I've been lusting over.

I'm always drawn to them when I go to Chicago Music Exchange. They're nice guitars with a cool vintage vibe. Like those old Kawai or Tokai guitars, but made well.

I wasn't blown away by the one my local GC had. It was put together well but the finish reminded me of the old Ibanez distressed finish guitars. Kinda plasticky, hard to explain, but I didn't care for it. I really like their designs though, maybe the one I tried just hadn't been well cared for.

I like the way Novo utilizes Ric-style f-holes on their semi-hollows. I built/assembled a Tele with one and I think it is settling to the eye. Fun player, too.

Sorry but the photo (Sweetwater) is not one of any Novo I looked at.

I think they were just trying to illustrate an Ibanez with a similar finish. Could be wrong though.

Re-reading it, I think you are correct. Apparently, Novo has a variety of distressed finishes so he may well be correct.

Yeah that's an imagine of the old Ibanez series. That's exactly what the Novo I played looked and felt like.

I’ve played several at guitar stores (being in Nashville is handy that way). Many that I’ve played have narrow nut widths… not my liking. The ones with 1.65” nut widths or greater were nice to play. Also slim neck profiles. All I played are on the brighter rocking side of tone. All that stated, I’d like to have one at some point if I found “the right one”.

Love this one... sort of has that ES-295 vibe going (click link for more pictures)... Sold - Novo Miris J (Gold Top Gold) | The Gear Page

I'm still trying to mentally catch up with inflation, to me $4,500 would buy a pretty sweet ES 5.

If the pickup was at the neck I’d love it 2x as much as I already do!
