I just finished modding this 20 year old Loar I got my hands on. It was difficult, but exciting for me to cut the holes in this beautiful guitar, but my urges just couldn't stop me.
I was browsing Reverb about a month ago and I saw these Dynasonic reproductions out of China. I was weary at first, but the price was too good. I really had to try them. I pulled the trigger on the pickups and 2 weeks later they showed up at my door.
The fit and finish of the pickups really surprised me. I took a deep breath and decided to cut some holes in my Loar to mount the pickups.
I have to say I'm really happy I did, I'm blown away with clarity ans sound of the pickups. They match the guitar really well and are excellent for jazz and blues.

How faithful are the pickup reproductions? Did you take a picture of the bottom?

I didn't take a picture of the bottom before I installed it, but I took this one from another of their listings on Reverb. The only difference I can see from the picture is I bought the long magnet version. I couldn't find a another listing for the long magnet on Reverb when I checked today.

Very cool! I just sold a 50’s Gretsch with Dynasonic’s really nice pickups.
