Not sure if this was posted: It looks like the original Pro Plec 351 pick can be bought: https://www.facebook.com/jonathankre...8665715484032/
Now if only they would do this to the 358 shape I would be all over it.

I haven't bought a Pro Plec in years. Did they change to a matte finish? I don't think I've ever seen those. I've got enough old Pro Plec 351s and 358s in my pick box to probably last me the rest of my days (which, at 65, there are fewer of ahead of me then there are behind me). Especially since the picks seem to last forever; I have at least one Pro Plec in the box that I've had for 25 years.

Yep, they went to a flatter duller finish that to me sounds a little more woody with a tiny bit of noise on the attack. With the older ones it wasn't hard to make the initial attack almost silent. The new ones don't slide off the string as well although it's still a very good pick.

Like some folks do with a satin finished guitar, can one polish these picks up a bit to have a glossier and smoother finish and smoother attack as a result?

Lots of people (me included) have been looking for substitutes since the matte version has been introduced..I will certainly get my hands on a few . If they're good as replacements for JK then that should do the trick for me.

    Thx for the heads up.

The lack of pick noise with the Pro Plecs was one of its best features.

I never used a pro plec older or newer but this caught my attention. Always open to try a new pic especially if it slides more easily off the string with a softer attack. Just got them and I love them! Very fast action as they leave the string so easily. They are 1mm but have the speed of much thinner picks as in 0.5 but have very warm tone and are very quiet. Conti had me experimenting with very thin pics for speed but the tradeoff in tone is not worth it. I’ve used blue chips for their tone and like these better. Thanks so much for posting this!
