I just acquired on of these for a pretty good price.

What are your favourite settings for a nice jazz sound?

Which one? The older version with orange Tolex or the newer black version with the COSM amp emulation?

Pretty simple: set it to "JC Clean", bright switch off, EQ and reverb to taste and you're good to go. On the "lead" side, you might find a tone you like in the black panel or tweed models, but keep the gain down. Not what you were asking, but I've had fun playing the Strat through the "dyna amp" setting for fusion tones but again, the gain setting is key as this amp can get HM pretty quickly with the COSM modelling! (I have the newer Cube 80)

Well if you're using the newer one, which I have, I like the "Tweed" setting. As mentioned, keep the gain down.

I use mine coupled with an 1.12" Eminence external cabinet.
As you certainly know, using an external speaker doesn't eliminate the internal one, so both are on.
A heavier setup but I don't mind. That thing sounds much more better to my taste.

I used to generally use the "Blackface" setting, but it was a battle keeping the trebles under control. The JC clean setting interestingly sounds nothing remotely like an actual Jazz Chorus.

Try the vox setting with low gain.
