Can anyone point me towards a starting point for settings to produce a basically enhanced/spacious sound for eg chord melody on an analog delay pedal please. In all this time, I have never tangoed with one! My pedal has settins for Delay Time, Repeat and Blend only. Also tips for blending delay with reverb please. Can't believe I never tried this. Thanks.

You gotta use your ears, but I put all three of those settings somewhere in the bottom 25% of the range when I use an analog delay. Lately I haven't been using one though. I am going with a touch of chorus instead.

I think the correct jazz setting for any pedal, many will agree, is "barely noticeable". Some might even go as far as to say "off".

One repeat (no feedback), time around 90-130 milliseconds for a quick slap back, set the blend low

I think you just have to experiment and see what works for you. Avoiding the extremes is probably a reasonable approach, i.e. delay time not too short or long, not too many repeats etc.

Of course it depends on what style you’re after, if it’s spacey ‘ambient’ stuff then longer delays etc. If it’s more like Joe Pass playing standards, then probably shorter and a dryer mix.

I’d intuitively assume that reverb should come after delay, just seems more natural somehow. Also that way round it probably helps to ‘soften’ the repeats a bit.

I understand you're a little bit worried to get it wrong to just experiment on your own. Of course be afraid, the jazz police will be knocking on your door if you don't set it exactly right!

Unfortunately can't help you, I use the delay for slapback echo mostly, to get the rockabilly vibe when playing jazz, which is already troubling with the jazz law.

Low mix/effect level, one or two repeats and a medium delay length. Delay can also work as a thickening effect imho : Very short delay time, a single repeat, slightly higher mix.

Agree. Two repeats max, very subtle level.

My Delay Llama doesn't have numbers, but I have it set pretty mildly:
    Time: 10 o'clock
    Level: 8 o'clock
    Repeat: 9 o'clock

Fun vid of Tom Lippincott reviewing his board and delay pedal:
