The thing with a Humbucker is the wider aperture than a single coil. This translates to a bigger tone. There are many low wind humbucker pickups that would work well.
Seymour Duncan Seth Lover, 59, Alnico II, my favorite is Manluis Landmark Alnico ll.
Another great choice is a Mini Humbucker which probably aligns closer with a traditional Tele Bridge pickup.

The OP should probably clarify what form factors he's considering. If he even comes back. :P

I got the impression upthread that we were talking about standard Tele-sized pickups and no routing of the body.

Well the good thing is he now has a lot of choices and opinions,Lol!

It's like the old joke "ask 10 Irishmen about any topic and you'll get 12 opinions." [noting that I'm of Irish descent, as my handle would indicate]

I find that good ol' No Casters work pretty well

Like Skip said, those 51' Nocaster neck pickups with Alnico 3 are great for jazz too. Also, I have a Biltoft custom Strat pickup with Tele nickel cover, it has long A5 magnets, and its punchy, fat, and girthy, great for jazz. I don't plan on using it...
Cheers,
Arnie...

I think given the price and their great sound, it's very difficult to beat the Fender Pure Vintage '64 Telecaster pickup set. IMHO the best available Tele set from Fender and frankly unbeatable at their price.

Can't go wrong with Bardens and/or Wilde Microcoils.
