This is interesting because one seldom finds these guitars listed for less than £10K in the UK
I watched that auction and was expecting higher prices.

Vintage Archtop guitars are maybe listed at a high price in the UK, but that price is seldom achieved in my opinion.

Same. It's humorous watching people ask close to new pricing on mass produced gear, especially budget lines like Squier and Epiphone or knock off/copy guitars.

People were selling the 2010's Epiphone Flying V bass for 3x MSRP for years. It was crazy.

Asset prices rise and they fall. The Rothschild banking family had a motto "Buy to the sound of cannons and sell to the sound of trumpets". They were once the richest family on the planet (and still are in the warped minds of conspiracy believing fools). Buy your gear during a recession and you will make great deals. Sell your gear during a boom economy and you will get top dollar (maybe more than 60 percent of new). Timing is everything in life. Good luck out there in the world of musical instrument buying and selling.

Some people will jump at the slightest few dollars off, in the “hey, fifty bucks is fifty bucks” attitude, ignoring all other issues. I’m also amazed by how high refurbished Apple products are priced, maybe $200 off on a $2000 item. And they sell.

Some won’t pay even an absurdly low price unless they can “deal down” anything more. I had a mint item priced at 35% new for quick sale, and the guy wanted it dropped to 30%. Another guy said “that’s a fair price”, and I replied, “it’s not a ‘fair’ price at all, it’s an absurdly unfairly low price. Do you want it?” He did.

Used sales are a carnival of personalities and accidental timing.

This is a $69 pedal. Klon asked them to change the look of it, so they did. This is the 'pre-changed' look. $69 pedal.

    Just a moment...

    Finegan sues:

“IP attorneys I have engaged filed a federal lawsuit against a well-known pedal manufacturer that is currently marketing and mass-producing a pedal that we believe blatantly infringes upon specific intellectual property owned by my company Klon LLC. For the record, I have never been consulted in any way about this pedal, it has never been authorised by me, and I have never had any involvement whatsoever in its design, production, or marketing.”

They agreed to slightly change the case, that's it. If they had simply put the Behringer name on it in the first place, they likely wouldn't have been sued. That said, Every online dealer is still selling the 'new' ones for about 75 bucks.
