Seems like a standard two button looper with drum beats. The Boss Rc-500 is a much better proposal, similarly compact, lots of drum patterns and variations, mic input as well, true stereo and two loops.

It has a built-in drum machine plenty of storage, so you can save your loops. Other loopers that have these features are typically more expensive than this one. I haven’t tried this looper, but it looks like a lot of bang for the buck.

For the price, this looks fantastic.

I mean, sure, I'd like midi control, mic inputs, separate volume faders, 32-float recording, and everything else the 505mkII has, but for the price this one looks like the best "first looper pedal" on the market right now.

Update: I tried one of these. It was deeply flawed. Kept wanting to turn on the drum machine when drums were not wanted. No documented way to keep it from happening. Gave it to a 16 yr old to play with.

Same here. I was looking forward to this. I ordered one and returned it immediately for the same reason.

Ordered an TC Electronics Ditto X4 looper since I really want the 'fade on stop' feature. Pretty old design but should work. Never have figured out how to stop the loop without it being kind of jarring. Even while trying to blend the rhythm back in on the guitar. Fade makes blending sound a lot more natural (while the singer taps her foot waiting for your solo to be over..).

The ditto loopers are great.

Had a reliability issue with it's larger, older sibling. Not that this is relevant. I have a stack of pedals that have, IMHO, failed sooner than they should have.

Guess we'll have to do a 'Looper 2026' thread one of these days. There's a lot out there.

Loopers can be fun, and people have done amazing things with them. But I think it depends on what one needs. After messing around with some of the loopers mentioned I realized that I don’t need much beyond independent start and stop buttons. All I really use a looper for is creating a live loop to add some variety to a solo set. While backward, fadeout, etc. are interesting, I rarely use them.

I'm using a looper to insert a guitar rhythm verse and/or chorus to solo over while accompanying a singer. I find that when I hit 'stop' it's just too abrupt sounding even while I'm playing the chords on the guitar. The only solution I've found is to use fade to soften the transition. I've seen others talk about the drop off with an abrupt stop but others don't seem to experience it the same way. Wonder if there is something I could be doing with my playing that I'm missing.
