I originally built this Ear Candy Mr Watts clone to mate with a Quilter 101R which I, ultimately, didn't care for and sold. Speaker is an Eminence Alpha A, 4 ohm as near as I remember.

Looking for suggestions for a 50 watt (ish) head to use with it. Been looking at a decent deal on a DV Mark 2ch Micro - would this go well with the cabinet?

I had the DV single channel head at one point and remember it being pretty much OK. Just looking for suggestions - would really prefer something with built in reverb.

Which amp head (w reverb) for Ear Candy Mr Watts clone?-quilter_ear-candy-jpg

Two-channel DV Marks have great jazz sound if you can live with the "drunken" reverb. They're loud, too. Nevershould... will no doubt recommend the Eric Gales 250. However, looks like the brand is being phased out, so better act quick.

The SuperBlocks have been optimized for 8 ohm load and don't get any louder through a 4 ohm speaker. Maybe not enough oomph for your needs. Quilter 202 a sure bet and more vesatile than RE Luna 200R. If money is no issue, Milkman or Henriksen The Bud head. I've had neither.

There's an obvious market opening for a compact 100W Super-Superblock or a BAM200 with reverb.
