I was rummaging about and found these photos of a friend’s Citation taken around 2000. I can remember him bringing it over, opening the case, and seeing it for the first time. That experience was second only to playing it. It was perfect in every way!
Interestingly, the instrument was a gift from his girlfriend. And when they subsequently fell out of love, she demanded the instrument back; or the amount she’d paid for it. He offered it to me for $13K. Before I could come up with the cash he said it was no longer available. I never saw it again.

Very nice piece of maple on the back, I like unique figuring like that rather than the more common even striping.
Very nice vertical grain too.

Wow. What a guitar. What a story! 'guess she figured he wouldn't be writing any songs to her anymore.
Good thing we have the memories.
Speaking of which, I remember the story of a guy in Japan or Taiwan. He had an extensive violin collection. When he split up with his wife, she went on a rampage and trashed his apartment. Looked like a tornado had hit it.
Love and guitars. Painful breakups. Ouch.
They're writing songs of love- but not for me...

And then there's the guitarists' divorce stories, and how guitar * cases* part of agreed upon home / division of property, may not necessarily contain guitars.....
