Hi - long time since I’ve posted here or been looking for a new guitar. I’d be grateful for any recommendations for current UK dealers that carry high quality used jazz guitars - many thanks! - Bill

Not many dealers in the UK that can offer reasonable deals. There is this epiphone byrdland that's been up for a while
Epiphone Elitist Byrdland 2006 Second Hand

    – Regent Sounds

or check out the guitar auction
    Auctions
other than that its eBay, Facebook market place, reverb and gumtree
Or contact Archie on here and see about his UK arch top guitar building business. There is a thread on here

Mak’s a good dude with a great shop. Used to be Ivor Mairantz… lot of history there! I bought two guitars from there over the years.

Foulds in Derby often seems to carry archtops, as does Guitar Village in Farnham (Surrey.) But nowhere I can think of in london (if there is please tell me haha.)

Otw buying an archtop in the UK is something done on a small scale - Musician to musician. I don’t think most guitar shops want them or know what to do with them. The set ups are always terrible. They have no idea, and increasingly don’t sell them at all.

    +1 on Maks

    -

I was thinking about Foulds in Derby just the other day. About 10 years ago (maybe more?) they seemed to be something of an archtop specialist - lots of Eastman, Peerless etc. and Henriksen amps

They don’t seem to be this anymore. Any idea what happened ?

Back Alley Music have a very, very tempting Eastman ER1 for £1700, also a good condition 1990's Gibson ES175 for £3500.

And plenty of other very nice Eastmans.

    Eastman with P90's £1179.

Thanks all for your suggestions - must visit Mak’s again, bought a Guild acoustic at Mairants *many* years ago!

Richards Guitars (Stratford) stock Godin and have some archtops, such as this one. Caveat; I've not visited, though it is fairly close to me. I found them online when I was looking for one of the single-pickup P90 Godins in the now-discontinued blonde finish.

I only deal to great players like you who are full of integrity. I’ve unfortunately recently had a terrible experience with a dishonest and morally bankrupt idiot on here.
