Got my guitar back after 24 days with the tech.
I bought the Kent Armstrong jazzy joe floating humbucker (korean) for $75, and my tech wasn't comfortable bending the mounting arms to fit the neck. He called Kent, and Kent offered to rebuild the pickup in his Vermont shop for free. This took a few weeks. Then he sent it back to my tech ready to install. Now it is a USA standard KA pickup! Awesome. They rewired the whole thing with all new top line electronics, slapped a set of 14-55 George Benson flatwounds on it, and WOW! Got this back yesterday and this guitar sings!
I am so happy.
Plus, they were instructed to save my original strings, and the tech forgot and he cut them off. So my tech took the cost of the GB flats. Gave me $51 back. The whole set up job cost me less than $100.
What a deal!!!!
I am just so happy at this moment and wanted to share.

Why? They were supposed to save my strings that were on the guitar. They screwed up, not me. It was Guitar Center.....they will be fine.

It had to be elevated to a higher up tech who took over the job and got it done right! I deserved every dollar given back to me for those strings. I don't feel bad at all.

Humm, honest mistake in this case as You kept calling them "My TECH" I had no clue about GC and the ensuing tale !!!!
