Hi everyone,
I was trying to use the AUX input on my DV Mark amp, and the moment I plugged the jack in, the amp started producing a very loud humming noise. Right after that, the overall volume dropped significantly, and now it seems like the amp is damaged or not functioning properly.
Has anyone experienced something similar?

I recall some difficulty with trying that on my LJ. I thought, at the time, that it might have been related to the number of conductors involved. I was playing mp3s from a cell phone, which has a mic capability, plus stereo sound. I assumed at the time, that I was not connecting it properly. I recall the hum and I recall that it stopped during actual playback or something like that. The amp was not damaged by any of this.

What was connected to the other end of the aux cable? Are you certain the cable is good?

The cable disconected from my phone and made the noise

If the cable isn't connected to anything, and is touching the floor or almost anything else, there will be noise. That's normal, and not a fault of the amp. It's getting input and amplifying it as it should.
