Hi all,
This is my first post–happy to be a member now as I've found tons of good advice here in the past few years!
I recently bought a Collings 290 S, and I'm looking to take good care of it as I'm hoping that it will be a lifelong investment. I live in NYC, and I'm searching for a case that is light, but also protects against rain, snow, heat, and would also be good to take around on the subway and to sessions etc. I'm especially concerned about heat, as I busk a lot in the summer and in the past the mono cases I've owned have tended to get very overheated when carrying around in the sun. I'm not sure yet if I'm looking for a hard or a soft case but I'm wondering if any of you might have any good advice on a case or case brand for this purpose.
Thanks a lot in advance.

I like the Reunion Blues Voyager silver-grey gigbags but I don't know if they are any better at reflecting heat out in the sun. Hiscox Pro II thermoplastic hardshell cases in Ivory/Cream are very good and lightweight. I have both brands for different guitars. For schlepping my guitar around via public transport the RB Voyager works best for me.

Just ordered the RB, thanks for the help.

I guess it's too late now (and those are great bags, so it's not like you need more info than this), but FYI are dozens of threads here about gig bags. If you do a google search (not the site's search box, which doesn't work) by typing "gig bags site:jazzguitar.be" into google you get tons of discussions and recommendations
