Here's what made tele's acceptable to me.
1 - Top loading the strings. Otherwise they are too stiff compared to what I'm used to.
2 - Flattening the radius.
3 - Getting the neck angle just right. They sell a 3 pack of full pocket shims that are different sizes. It's a small difference, but it makes the difference between a good setup and a perfect one.

I'm not going to weigh it because I don't want to know. That and I usually play sitting down and this body style is pretty comfortable for that.
Not really a telecaster. They call it an Offset Telecaster. But really, it's something else. Chose it because it has a boat neck 42mm wide. Pretty comfortable for someone who doesn't care for overly skinny necks. I do like the jazzmaster body for the ergo's. The Fender P90's sound great. The MIJ workmanship is perfect. And I find the korina body to be pretty nice looking.
It's my favorite solid body and I do play it quite a bit. Especially when I want things archtops don't do like plenty of sustain for a delay and volume pedal. That and the clarity a solid body can give you.
Still an archtop guy though. The more acoustic the better.
