People who can understand Barry Harris do not get a pass on amp hours and Class D amps..

I don't personally use anything battery powered in my band, but I have at least 3 friends that use the Alto. They all love it.

It's difficult at best to compare refrigerators to amplifiers, because refrigerators use almost no power at all most of the time, but a lot of power for short periods. Most of the time the refrigerator just sits there, using nothing at all, and only kicks on when the internal temp goes above the set temp. If you keep the door closed, it uses nothing other than what is needed for the sensors for hours. When a power outage seems imminent (all too often down here) I set my fridge temps very low and precool, then reset to higher temps when I need to use the generator. Class D amps are somewhat similar, in that they only use the power needed at the time, and if they aren't producing sound they just idle. A Class A or B amp, especially if it's an old design with tubes, uses almost the same power all the time, and are horrifically inefficient. I don't know anything about a Fender Rumble, but a small Class D amp will run for a very long time on a battery of modest capacity.
