Probably both cheaper and less enjoyable than the Grolsch

You can get the blocks very cheaply from eBay. IIRC I bought a pack of 10 or so for a couple of dollars with free shipping. That said, my preference is Schaller, and I use them on the guitars I regularly play. With those, it's easy enough to use one strap for multiple guitars, the quick disconnect works well but doesn't allow the strap to come off unless you intentionally do it.

I advice against any strap lock that uses a "grippy" mechanism (e.g., spring). An ordinary strap end on a strap pin is fine; it slides with rotation. With a grippy strap lock, movement of the guitar while playing can transfer torque through the strap to the grippy lock... to the strap pin; then the strap pin screw, which once loose will become progressively more so.

The Schaller lock does have a spring, but if it fails it will still hold the guitar. There is no grip, the strap rotates freely, and to remove the strap the lock has to be moved in the opposite direction. I don't believe it's possible for it to allow the guitar to fall accidentally. It does have its drawbacks, in that it's somewhat heavy, and can cause dents if allowed to hit the guitar, and the size can be an issue for some. But for safety, I don't see how it can be beaten.
