Not a NGD (I actually have not bought a new guitar in almost a year if you can believe it). I just wanted to share some clips of this tele in action. I heard these clips from our last gig and thought the TK guitar sounded so sick I had to share. It's so fat sounding and so clear at the same time.
For those of you who are not familiar, it looks like a tele but it's really not. The body is hollow, the neck is thru body rather than bolted or glued on. I got it with a bigsby trem on TK's recommendation for weight distribution and feel. I never use it, but it gives the guitar a bit of sponginess like a strat. I'm always blown away when I hear this guitar back on recordings. It sounds to me like an archtop rather than any tele, but it plays so easily.
Oh and the amp in these clips is a Deluxe Reverb (64). I would have taken the vibrolux but it was raining and I don't have a gig bag for it, whereas I do have one for this amp. Still sounded great!

I was about to write that this is just another slab of wood with nice pickups, but NO. This is truly another beast. Very special indeed with terrific tone/sound! Beyond my pay/play grade but simply amazing instrument.

Very great sounds! And I love the Epiphone influence in the design. TK makes some of the coolest stuff out there. I’ve got several guitars with his pickups/parts but I don’t have a whole guitar from him (yet). I’ve been bothering him trying to get on the waitlist for a Special.
What do you think of the open top CAR pickups as opposed to the standard ones? The standards are great but so much darker than most other pickups. It seems like on paper, the open tops would be the best of both worlds.

Hell yeah. TK and I are huge NY Epiphone fans so he was very willing to make the cloud/fan inlays for me when I asked. We also sourced an archtop pickguard material for the guard.
As for the pickups, I think the open top CARs are the best of all possible worlds. The regular CARS are very dark. I still love them, but your amp better have a treble knob to make the most use of them.
Here's another little clip btw from a different night. On this one I had a henriksen bud and Benson Germanium Preamp (great pedal!).

Ok, that settles it, then! If/when I’m able to get on the list, I’d like to do a single cut special in Buick Green with open top CARs and borrow your Epi influenced inlays/guard.
Speaking of which, I think you’re going to want to keep your eyes peeled for a NGD post that I will be making soon-ish.
