Any body tried the Positive Grid Spark Mini 10W Portable Smart Guitar Amp?
Looking for an amp to take to acoustic festivals to play my 5 string electric mandolin and lap steel thru at low levels. Have owned the Micro Cube in the past, was just OK and gave it to a friend. Looking for something that sounds better. Also quiet practicing and band practices.
Or any other suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

I have a couple of Spark Minis as well as the original Spark 40 and a Spark Go. Great piece of kit for what they do (I grab the Mini or the Go with me when I travel, and keep a Mini at the office). They’re not going to be mistaken for tube amps (of which I have a few as well), but sound pretty decent for the most part and are great for practice (bluetooth for playing over backing tracks and double as bluetooth speakers). Well worth the money as far as I’m concerned :-)
Here’s a 2pg. thread/discussion on the Spark Mini

Just charging up my 50w Crate Limo for the weekend. Very nice amp if you can find one. More natural and less processed sounding than the Cubes and powered speakers I've tried.

Best: Bose S1: loud, clear, 5 hours on one battery charge
Smaller: Yamaha —good sound, smaller form factor.
Everything else is MEH.

Been looking for something for solo acoustic guitar, both steel string and nylon. Pretty much decided on the Elite Acoustics "EAE" A1-8. Rechargeable, 80 watts, with effects and phantom power

The Limos sound great, last for hours and are 50 loud watts with 2 channels with different eq curves if you can find a working one. If you find a non working one grab it for parts.
-
And no extra stuff like eqs or pre amps necessary. Guitar + lead + amp!

In the 70s, I remember Country Joe using a flat top through one of the small ones with a mic to the PA. It was dreadful.

One of the scourges of the Paris metro back when I had to take it in the early 2000s: tympan wreckers who'd jump your car with a one of those trolley things on which were strapped an amp/PA powered by something like a car battery.
If they managed to rig such things it can't be rocket science to figure out how to use any other comparably sized amp that gives the sound you're after. (And that was before lithium car batteries.)

Have not purchased yet but intend to when I get my latest guitar acquisition paid for. These amps get rave reviews on The Acoustic Guitar Forum - should be able to find them with a simple search - there's a few YT videos, also. The AER 60 seems to be the hallmark for this type amp but they are seriously pricey.

Best in class (even over a Bose S1) is likely the Electrovoice Everse8. But now you're getting up to $750. Maybe more in Europe.
What has worked for me is a separate amp and power inverter. An inverter is the size of a shoe box and weighs a less than 3kg. It will drive a solid state amp all day as well as being useful for camping, power outages, and general stuff.

how about bring you own power station. play whatever amp you want and charge your friends amp too>?
