Hello guys, the topic is the following, I have an Ibanez PM120, for a long time, very satisfied with its performance, mine is a natural color, I always wanted the black color, and now a friend of mine is selling his, a black PM120 .
My friend left it at my house to test it for as long as I considered necessary, and oh surprise, I found that it has a lot of feedback problems, something that my PM 120 never had! Any information to contribute? thank you so much

Different gauge strings? Different bridges? Slight differences in the construction between the two guitars (is one lighter than the other, for example)? Black color more absorbent of amplified sound compared to a natural finish? (Just kidding on that one).

Both with Daddario 011flats, both with original tuneomatic, the black PM120 is 2006, mine is 3 years newer, the weight...good question...similar, but I will weigh them tomorrow, perhaps like every black hole it attracts everything to itself...

I would check for microphonic pickups, seems most likely to me.

Not an expert, but this occurs to me.

If the one that feeds back is also louder when played acoustically, then it may have the livelier top.

Bug or feature? That's up to the player.

Is the height of the pickup relative to the strings similar in both guitars?

I find that feedback usually comes from the bass strings and I usually lower the height of the bass side of the pickup just slightly lower than the treble side on most of my guitars. Relative to the binding on the neck, I find that the height of the top of the bass side of the pickup is about 10-25% below the top of the binding on most of my hollow bodies. For reference, 0% would mean the top of the pickup is at the same level as the top of the binding, and at 100%, the top of the pickup would be level with the bottom of the neck binding. You might try lowering the bass side just slightly.

I just looked at my Ibanez PM100 and noticed that the top of the pickup is about 80% below the top of the binding. I looked at my Eastman AR880 and the top of the bass side is actually at the bottom of the binding and the treble side is very close to the top of the binding.

If the feedback is coming from vibration of an open bass string that is not being played, a string dampener should help.

You might try lowering the bass setting and perhaps the mid setting on your amp a little.
