Sometimes you find something…. This Squier 10G amp was thrown away with the trash. I picked it up for parts but after cleaning the pots it just worked! It has a Squier badge, but it’s just the same as the Fender one.
And guess what? I absolutely love the clean tone for quiet living room practicing! With a 6.5” speaker it even produces a strong bass on my wooden floor! And it’s dead quiet: no buzz, hiss or other noises. Best of all: it’s so small and cute looking my wife allows it outside our music room in the living room
I am really surprised by this cheap little amp….

I have this Crate Limo for which I paid £33. Battery powered. The guitar was a recent gift. The clean jazz tone is wonderful.

For awhile I was looking for cheap amps to take apart and put in vintage radios. I actually did this with a used Pignose amp, which I put into an old farm radio.
However, after this project I got distracted and kind of lost interest. I have an old Philco radio just waiting for some electronic parts. I might do it again if I come across the right cheap amp.

This little Squier amp is great as living room/practise amp. But just that, nothing more. But that’s enough!

That’s very cool!

I have a 15G with the Fender badge. It came with a Squier strat starter set that I bought for my son about 25 years ago when he said he wanted to learn to play guitar. My son's guitar journey lasted barely a month or two and the amp's been quietly taking up space in the closet since then. Seeing this post made me dig it out of hiding and will give it go later today.

Curious about how (if) you like it!
