Speaking of teles for jazz, anyone try a PRS NF 53?

Where? The ones I've seen new are $2900-$3000

I agree that they'll have trouble moving these guitars at a $3k price point. Believe the retail price was slashed on Black Friday, may happen again after Christmas.

Yup. I see the same instruments hanging around at local dealers for a year or more. Most are like 10% off. I think the dealers can’t really slash them yet except on Black Friday or something, but I’m confident that if I were to walk in, grab one that’s been there for 14 months and offer 65% or 70% retail, the guy would swear at me like a sailor for half an hour just for form and then he’ll throw in three sets of strings and a strap to seal the deal. I’m in Europe BTW and NF53’s are even more expensive here.

I try not to buy new anymore. I try hard. Prices of new quality instruments are just… I mean it’s easy to hit 5k€ for a solidbody now. It’s great to see offshore guitars that are as good as they are. They’re needed. The PRS SE range for example is just killer.
